HELEN SHORT was born in Dunfermline on the 28th of May, 1827. (Transcribed from OPR)

Daughter of JOHN SHORT and Helen IZATT or IZETT. Witnesses named in the OPR entry are Robert Blackburn (?) and Adam Morris.

John and Helen were married in Dunfermline on the 28th of August 1808. (Transcribed from OPR) The OPR entry indicates that they were married irregularly in Edinburgh.

John was a Coalhewer at Halbeath at the time of his marriage and a Collier at Blackburn at the time of Helen's birth.

James and Helen are at Parkneuk, Dunfermline, on the 1851 census. They have one daughter, Helen.

James and Helen are at 40 Parkneuk, Dunfermline, on the 1881 census. James' occupation is Coal Miner. On the 1891 census they are at 4 Crystal Row, Parkneuk.
