ALEXANDER FROOD was born in Cambusnethan in 1836. According to the OPR, he was baptised on the 14th of June, 1836. (OPR Ref. 628/3, FR596)
Son of John Frood and Mary McIlquham.
Alexander is at Old Church Cottage, Cambusnethan, on the 1851 census. On the 1861 census he is at Cartside Farm, Carmunnock and at the time of his marriage in 1868 he was living at Drips Farm, Carmunnock. These are just two different names for the same place.
ANN SINCLAIR was born in Bothwell about 1844 or 1845. No entry can be found for her birth in the OPR indexes.
Daughter of Donald Sinclair and Ann Hartford.
Ann is in the village of Chapelhall, Bothwell, on the 1851 census. At the time of her marriage in 1868 she was living at 17 Montgomery Street, Glasgow.
Alexander and Ann were married in Kirkton, Blantyre, on the 10th of December, 1868.

Alexander and Ann are at Cartside Farm, Cathcart, on the 1871 census and at East End Farm, East Kilbride, on the 1881 and 1891 census. On the 1901 census, Ann is still at East End, but Alexander is at Duntiglennan Farm, Duntocher, in the parish of Old Kilpatrick.
The 1881 census lists Alexander's occupation as Grazer - the LDS transcription released on CD has this as 'Grocer'.
