JOHN MILLER - MARGARET LECKIE

John and Margaret were married in St Ninian's on the 4th of March 1792. (Transcribed from OPR Ref. 488/5, FR1948)

Margaret Leckie was from the parish of Gargunnock.

According to his daughter Janet's death certificate, John was a 'Tailor'. Some OPR index entries have his surname as 'Millar'.

John is at West Hilltown (?), Cowie, in the parish of St. Ninians, on the 1841 census, described as of independent means. With him is 15 year old Margaret Imrie, Female Servant, probably his grand-daughter.

John is at Birkenshaw Farm on the 1851 census, living with his daughter Janet and her family. His age is given as 86, making his year of birth around 1764. His place of birth is given only as 'Stirlingshire'.
