JAMES RUSSELL - ANN MORRIS

Son of Alexander Russell and Jane Wilson.

ANN MORRIS was born in Dunfermline c.1816. (Ref. 1851 Census)

Daughter of Thomas Morris and Minto Burt.

James and Ann were married in Dunfermline on the 21st of December, 1839. They are at 40 Brick Row, Forth Iron Works, in Carnock parish, on the 1851 census. James is an Ironstone Miner. Forth Iron Works was located in what is now part of the town of Oakley in Fife.

James and Ann are at 43 Blackburn, Dunfermline, on the 1881 census. James' occupation is Labourer. However, the records of St. Margaret's United Presbyterian Church identify James as a miner at Whitemire (1852) and Parkneuk (1854), and his death certificate describes him as a Colliery Grieve.

    Alexander is probably at 20 Rumblingwell, Dunfermline, on the 1881 census. His occupation is Vintner. He married Jeanie Penman. He died at 133 Baldridgeburn, Dunfermline on the 13th of May 1910. His occupation was Coal Miner.

    John is probably at 56 Netherton Broad Street, Dunfermline, on the 1881 census. His occupation is Coal Merchant.

  4. Arthur Russell, born in Dunfermline on the 11th of February, 1848 and baptised at St. Margaret's UP Church on the 23rd of February, 1852.

    Arthur married Jane Younger, daughter of John Younger and Elizabeth Robertson.

  5. Ann Russell, born in Dunfermline on the 11th of October, 1851 and baptised at St. Margaret's on the 23rd of February, 1852.
  6. Jean Russell, born in Dunfermline on the 7th of January, 1854 and baptised at St. Margaret's on the 25th of January, 1854.
  7. James Russell, born in Elgin Colliery, Dunfermline, on the 14th of July, 1856.

    James is probably at 38 Golfdrum Street, Dunfermline, on the 1881 census. His occupation is Tailor.

James died at 71 Parkneuk on the 2nd of January 1887.

Ann died at 220 Baldridgeburn on the 23rd of March, 1894.
